JURISDICTION
The Northern Telecom Region with headquarters at New
Delhi is responsible
for the Operational and Maintenance of the long distance
network consisting
of analog and digital transmission
systems and of Satellite Earth
Station at
Delhi
and in the
states of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana,
Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and part of Madhya Pradesh.
The Northern Telecom Region is under the overall charge
of a Chief General
Manager who is
assisted by Six General Managers, four at New Delhi and
one each at Lucknow and Chandigarh. The organizational
set up of NTR is

Apart from the primary responsibility of maintaing the long distance network
the other important functions of NTR include the following :
1. Operation and Maintenance of National Network Management
(NNMC) and Regional Network Management Centre (RNMC)
2. Operation of Telegraph Services in Delhi
3. Administrative control of the Civil and Electrical wing units at
Delhi.
4. Cadre Control functions for all Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ staff
In the field units of Delhi. The functions include recruitment ,
Promotion and discipilinary cases.
5. Maintenance and Estate office functions of all residential colo-
nies and staff Quarters at Delhi.
